CSU Bakersfield
California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) is set on a beautiful, sprawling 375-acre campus in California’s southern San Joaquin Valley. Bakersfield is located in the heart of the west coast’s farming and oil-producing regions, at a logistics crossroads of east-west and north-south transportation routes. CSU Bakersfield is the only regional comprehensive public university within a 100-mile radius.

Travel
- Driving - Direct your GPS to CSUB, Music Building, Bakersfield, CA 93311.
- Flying - The Meadows Field Airport (BFL) is the closest airport to the campus. Participants can also fly to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Participants must arrange their own transportation.
- Maps - CSUB campus and directions to the residence halls
- Insurance - International participants need to purchase travel insurance in their own country and send Ms. Yuri Sakamaki the explanation of benefits in ENGLISH. This is usually available on the insurance company’s website.
Housing
- Off-Campus - If you choose to live off-campus, it will be your responsibility to find transportation to accommodate your program’s schedule. There are many off-campus accommodation options available in Bakersfield. Please visit visitbakersfield.com for helpful information about finding hotels or contact.
- On-Campus - Student Housing East on-campus facility is suite-style living where residents share a common lobby area and a suite-exclusive bathroom. Most suites have 2 bedrooms surrounding one common living room space. Each suite is furnished with a microwave/fridge combo and common room seating. Meals
- Dining on Campus - Choose from Wich Wich Sandwiches1, Runner Express, or Starbucks open Monday - Thursday, 8am - 2pm. 1 Opens 10am.
- ALI Participants - If you participate in the English language program and stay on campus, you can pay for the entire session. Please contact Ms. Yuri Sakamaki for more information.
